New Heights Therapeutic Riding is a 501(c)(3) non-profit located in Folsom, Louisiana. We help people who have physical, cognitive, and emotional difficulties reach their full potential through equine therapy.
We have a fully handicap accessible facility with a covered arena and a 16 stall barn. Our arena is equipped with a wheelchair accessible ramp and a lift, which can hold up to 1,200 pounds to assist wheelchair bound clients to mount the horse.
Therapeutic riding instructors are certified through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International to provide equine assisted activities and therapies to participants.
The Arc Caddo-Bossier’s GREAT Program (Great Results Equine-Assisted Therapies) offers therapeutic horseback riding services to children and adults with disabilities.
GREAT is committed to the same level of excellence; our instructors are trained to teach students with a variety of disabilities including, but not limited to, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and traumatic brain injury.
The GREAT horses are donated, leased, or rescued, and each therapy horse goes through an extensive training period prior to beginning lessons.
