Brain Injury Association of America

BIAA is the national organization that lobbies on behalf of this widespread disability of brain injury and those that suffer from it. Visit its website for more information on its activities, and for plenty of general info on brain injury.

Advocacy Center

The Advocacy Center is designated by the Governor of Louisiana to serve as the state's protection and advocacy system for persons with disabilities.

Louisiana Rehabilitation Services

LRS assists persons with disabilities in there desire to obtain or maintain employment and/or achieve independence in their communities by providing rehabilitation services and working cooperatively with business and other community resources.

 TBI/SCI Trust Fund and Acquired Brain Injury Support Group

 

TBI/SCI Trust Fund

The State of Louisiana collects funds from the fines paid for particular  driving offenses and uses these funds to improve the quality of life of those with traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries. Information about application is available on the site, but please know that there is a waiting list of recipients.

 

Louisiana Office of Public Health

EMS/Injury Research and Prevention program studies intentional and unintentional injuries by collecting, analyzing and disseminating information related to injuries in order to identify and describe injury problems in Louisiana.
