BIALA Board Members

BIALA was created at the direct request of the Brain Injury Association of America to ensure proper information and representation within Louisiana pertaining to brain injury.

 

Brain injury survivors, caregivers and family members joined efforts to establish a Louisiana alliance to the national organization.

 

BIALA was created by persons from brain injury support groups throughout the state; parent and family advocates of persons with brain injury, the Advocacy Center; the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals; Associated Catholic Charities; NeuroRestorative Specialty Centers, Hammond Place; the Governor's Office of Disability Affairs;  Touro Infirmatory Hospital; Louisiana Rehabilitation Services; LSU Medical Center and Bancroft NeuroHealth.

 

This task of creation of BIALA began in late 2003, and BIALA was recently awarded status as a 501(c)3 NonProfit Organization by the IRS
